Rain, slapping the shingles, drumming a woeful dance in the dark

Rain, gushing the gutters and awnings, the tears of a broken heart

Rain, flooding the walkways and yard

Rain, cleansing away from the soul all that was tainted, tarnished and hard

Rain, washing the streets and sky

Rain, soothing the pain of a heart that is taught, drawn and dry

Rain, cooling the heat of the burning air

Rain, expressions of a heart when there is no one to share

Rain, running through yards and streams
Rain, painful acceptance of unfulfilled dreams

Rain, flowing from the highest points to the low

Rain, sorrowful expressions, when there is nowhere else to go

Rain, carrying away dirt and debri
Rain, allowing the inner being to finally be free

Some very good ideas. I think it would have hepled me if the spaces occurred every two lines rather than every single line - that way I would have caught the rythmn much sooner.

Repetition was pretty cool when read aloud...almost like hearing rain on a tin roof. I liked it a lot.

I liked this! Very good.
Keep up the great work.

God Bless.
Sincerely,

P.S. Yes, I voted for it, too!
