Send down, the showers of your blessing.
Let your promise of rain restore my soul.
I need your mercy drops to fall down on me.
Please fill me up and make me whole.

My soul is parched and thirsty,
My spirit is dry and desperate to drink.
My cup is now empty, oh God.
Let your living water rise and overflow through me.

Send down, the showers of your blessing.
Let your promise of rain restore my soul.
I need your mercy drops to fall down on me.
Please fill me up and make me whole.

My soul is in need of the showers.
My spirit is waiting for the rain.
I long for your refreshing water to sooth me
And revive my thirsty life again.

Send down, the showers of your blessing.
Let your promise of rain restore my soul.
I need your mercy drops to fall down on me.
Please fill me up and make me whole.

My heart desires the rain of mercy.
My life needs reviving in this dry barren land.
Quench my thirsty spirit, I ask you Father God.
I lift my cup and leave it in your loving hands.

Send down, the showers of your blessing.
Let your promise of rain restore my soul.
I need your mercy drops to fall down on me.
Please fill me up and make me whole.

Deborah,
this is beautiful. Was it written as a poem or a song? This has great potential for song lyrics.
Well done!
Love, Lynda

Beautiful poem. I love the "fill me up and make me whole" Some times lately, I feel like peices are missing and I wish that I could just be like a glass and God could tip the pitcher and fill me up and make me whole. Thanks for sharing, very good!

It may not have started out to be a song, but for some reason, it made me want to hum a tune. In fact, it would make a wonderful song! Very nice. Liked it a lot.

It would be a beautiful song. I love the words, and to music it would be even more...(don't you hate it when you can't think of the right word!)...beautiful.

I agree, this is like a beautiful song, a plea for the showers of God's blessings to rain down on you and make you whole. I ask the same thing, O Lord!
