True acceptance is admitting things which you cannot change and trusting in God to give you hope for the future. In July, this year I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, and for the most part many people began to tell me the negative side. How I would not have a normal life and that my life would be limited by this disease. At first, I thought as much.
Things began to change for me when my pastor called a fast, and the first thing my mother said was that I would not be able to because of my limitation. I looked deep into my faith and I realized if I could not do anything for God, surely I could not help myself. As a result of fasting and holding onto my faith, I lost 27 pounds and my sugar levels are almost normal. It does not matter what others think, but as long as you have faith, you can accept and do anything!
