“Eve, it’s such a beautiful day; let’s go for a walk in the garden.”

“That sounds good, Adam!”

“Adam could we check out those two magnificent trees in the center of the garden? They are so beautiful in this light this time of the day. They just glow so radiantly with the warm sunshine glittering through their branches. What intriguing shadows they cast.”

“Sure, whatever you say my beloved. I love being with you wherever we are. I am so glad God created you for me. I was so lonesome before you. Say, I wonder if I gave up another rib, would God make me another woman?”

“Don’t even think of it big boy! You got your work cut out for you right here.”

“Just kidding, my precious, how could I ask for anything more?”

“Oh, look Adam, there they are. They are so beautiful; I just love to look at them. The Tree of Life is so wonderful, Adam. Look at it radiate like silken shades of dew. We eat of it and live forever. God is so good. And the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil looks especially fine today. Why look, it’s that enchanter, the Serpent; I believe he wants to talk with me.”

“My, Eve, you certainly look good today. I have some great news for you; you can eat from this tree! Listen to logic, God lied to you…not only will you not die from eating the forbidden fruit, but it looks and tastes so good you just have to try it! You will gain the same wisdom God has, and that’s a good thing.”

“Well, you make it sound so good…maybe just a little bite…hum, delicious! Adam, you have just got to taste this; it is the best thing I have ever eaten.”

“I don’t know Eve, God’s only rule for us is that we don’t eat of that tree.”

“Come on Adam, don’t you love me?”

“You know I do Eve. You are the only girl for me.”

“Funny, now take a bite for me, or you can sleep with the lions tonight.”

“Oh, alright! Wow…it is delicious and so sweet…ohhhh…wait a minute, something weird is happening to me. Eve, we have made a big mistake breaking God’s rule. What’s this? I am naked…and so are you! How embarrassing! Quick, lets cover ourselves with these leaves. What have we done?”

“It’s all my fault, Adam! I am so sorry!”

“No Eve, God placed all things under my dominion. You offered, but I accepted knowing better. Oh no…did you hear that sound, Eve?”

“What sound, Adam…oh…oh, I hear, I hear Him coming!”

“Lets hide Eve. I know we are in a lot of trouble and I got a sick feeling we can’t get out of the mess we made by breaking Gods only rule for us. Surely, this disobedience on our part will affect all our descendants for all times.”

“No! Adam, no…uh, Adam what are descendants?”

“You will find out soon Eve, but for now I feel like we aren’t long for the garden. Better start packing!”

“Oh, Adam…would you and Eve show yourselves right now, I have something to discuss with you!”

Rule number one; don’t break rule number one!

This was really cute, I love the part - you'll sleep with the lions tonight.

Lucian,
I loved this! Perhaps that is exactly how it went down in the garden...it's fun to imagine anyway. Wonderful story-telling, very cute humor!
Great job!
Blessings, Lynda

Rule #1 don't break rule #1. I like that!

If we want to get technical, read Gen. 1:27 and 28 God gave them dominion. Chapter 3 verse 24 states that God drove the man out of the garden, but we know it was both. God saw them as one, as He still does husbands and wives today. Good story, it was light yet meaningful. Too many good lines to mention, very enjoyable read.

What got me there is that Adam was quick to reassure Eve that it wasn't her fault and yet when faced with God - does he not point the finger at Eve? Is that not true to life - one thing with people and something else when faced with God?

"Say, I wonder if I gave up another rib . . ." This was absolutely hysterical!

Very cute story, (inventive)! :)

Lucian, Cute. I liked the ending line a lot. The sad thing about getting kicked out of the garden...God came looking for them, asked what they had done..I truly believe if they had confessed and repented of their sin at that moment instead of placing the blame on someone else, their fate may have been different..but it's always so much easier to place blame on someone else than to take responsibility for our own actions..the reason everyone these days is a "victim." *Sigh* Good piece.

“You know I do Eve. You are the only girl for me.”

Funny.

A clever adaption on this week's theme using dialogue. Very, very nicely done.
Annette Bury08/25/04
Love the dialogue! Very clever! You really gave a familiar story something fresh.

It is cute. But, if Adam and Eve were created in the image of God, until they sinned they were perfect. None of the quips or innuendos would have occurred until after the fall. If they were created in God's image and they walked with God in the garden in the evening, I'm sure they had knowledge of good, but not of evil.

It's interesting that it was Adam to whom God revealed they were not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve hadn't even been created yet.

The Scriptures say that Adam was there with her when the evil being in the body of a serpent tempted her. Why didn't Adam try to stop her. Furthermore, when God questioned him, he tried to shift the blame onto God by saying, "the woman You gave me..."

Lucian, you did a great job! I think it shoulve been entitled, "Better start packing ADAM" but uh...anyways I digress! Love ya!

or you can sleep with the lions tonight - too funny!

Eve was starting early at the game! :-)

Good article. Funny too! I like the part where Eve says, "No, Adam, no... uh, what are descendants? Great way of rewriting this old story of the first rule broke. Blessings!
