A teacher is a parent. Parents establish the fundamental base from which children learn values and faith, the very fiber of the individuals they will one day be. They nurture, direct, love, and support by word and example. Parents are the first step in a child’s journey with Christ.
A teacher can be a day care worker who reinforces and educates in that early learning stage. They are extensions of the parents, providing support in building a Christ-centered base.
A teacher is a pastor, a mentor of faith. These spiritual leaders nurture the souls of their flocks, tending them in their Christian journey from early childhood onward. They are a resource of biblical principles, blueprints for developing and strengthening faith.
A teacher is a school instructor, an imparter of knowledge and values. Along with parents, they provide the building blocks of a child’s education. Children are truly blessed if their educators enrich the soul as well as the mind.
A teacher is anyone who guides: a grandparent, neighbor, a friend. They fill in the gaps, enhancing the whole. They support and direct those they touch, aiding others in their spiritual journeys.
Most important, a teacher is God to all those who accept Christ as their personal Savior. He is the cement that holds things together in good times and bad. He guides the faithful and reaches out to those who stray. He sent his Son to live the truth, an example of how to walk in His light. Through Him, we are made whole.
