God gives us so much wisdom
In His Word each day,
To show us how to truly live,
And how to walk His way.
He sent His Son to live on earth,
To teach us where to go,
For mankind was lost in sin,
Too blind to truth to know.

The way the teachers of the law,
Taught was just in vain,
Many lives were locked in sin
No hope, but death and pain.
The ways of the world are fleeting,
Bringing turmoil, sin and strife,
Without purpose or direction
To give us hope or life.

Many were amazed at His teaching,
He taught with authority.
His wisdom was not of this world
Christ came to set us free.
When a disciple said to Jesus
ďLord, teach us how to pray.Ē
He gave to them His Fatherís Prayer.
By example showed the way.

He taught them from His Fatherís Word,
According to Godís will.
In parables, revealed the truth,
To love, not hate or kill.
Many lives were turned around,
While others carried on,
With the way that they were living,
Too late when they were gone.

They plotted to destroy Him
And crucified our Lord.
Although they did not know it,
It was Godís Will and Word.
Christ was the greatest teacher,
that God could ever give,
Because He rose victorious
Eternal life to give.

Marcell-
You have such an amazing gift for poetry! Your poems are always straight on the subject and flow so easily and naturally. I hope you really do compile a book someday to bless more than your fellow writers at Faith Writers. :)

I agree - your poetry is wonderful. I enjoyed this entry.

yes, our pastor pointed out in a sermon a few months ago that the only thing the disciples ever asked Jesus to teach them was to pray...they never asked him how to teach them to do miracles ... they understood the importance of prayer.

An exceptional poem, Marcell. I enjoyed it very much. Well-written in truth and love. May God continue to bless you in your writing.
