One amazing thing about God is that He allows “do overs”. No matter how many times we mess up He allows us to start over. Each new beginning is not tainted in His site by our past failures. Acknowledging our failure enables us to start fresh.

Unfortunately, it is our own guilt and remembrance of failures that often causes the next new beginning to fail or seem bleak. God does not remind us of our failure, we do that on our own. He doesn’t keep score, we often do. What would happen if we allowed those around us new beginnings? Jesus said to forgive and forgive again, 70 times 7. So often we expect God to let us start over, yet we don’t allow for failures in those around us. This doesn’t mean that there is no consequences from failure, but there is love, understanding, and restoration. What an amazing world we would have if we all started to give a few do overs.

We are told to follow Christ example, but somehow we pick and choose what we will follow. Would we accept this from our children? What would we do if they began to only obey things that suited them? Thankfully, God is truly loving and forgiving, even more so than us. So the next time you spot failure in others remember to give them a new beginning, just as Christ gave you.

Hi Sonya - What beautiful advice you give us to live by. I agree with you that it would be a better world if we forgave more often.

I never thought about 70 x 7 as a do-over for forgiveness & mistakes. Great insight!

True words of wisdom - we really do need to allow those around us a fresh start, without reminding them of their failures. Well said.

Very good little message and I will definitely take away the thought that the world would be quite amazing if we started to give a few "do-overs" in the forgiveness, love and grace department.

Good kick in the last paragraph too! Well done. With love, Deb

Amen. Thank God for His allowance of Do Overs in my life.

Sonya, I really needed to be reminded of this. Thank you. I appreciate your insight and expression of it!
