“Beginnings”
by Sandra Fischer

I stare at the blank paper
Fingers poised above the keyboard
Brain trying to engage:
“Genesis, in the beginning,
One step at a time,
Ready, set, go,
Once upon a. . .
How do I begin?
Just do it !”
Without plan?
Without design?
Without purpose?
Free will
Or will it be?
Words have life –
They are not dead
When they are penned or said
They’re born for good or ill.
The best are carefully
Chosen, weighed and
Measured, then birthed
To bless those who read or hear.
Just as the Creator spoke all into
Being – not by chance or random
Selection – can I in these humble
Words do less in all my beginnings.

I enjoyed your poetry and the quandary you find when trying to begin a new work.

nice...learning to just start typing and let if flow, when I get there, I finally find peace in my writing!

Wonderful poem Sandra! I think you hit on a great illustration for the theme, considering most us reading it in the challenge are writers. I really loved the flow and feel, not to mention the expression of the heart of every one who writes for the Lord. With love, Deb
