Follow Him Above
Dan Blankenship

In a light so bright
No evil dare trespass
I see Him standing
People of love in mass

His hands held out
Leaving no fear
In His arms shall be
The sheep held so dear

His words forged in stone
His time foretold
An eternal decision
Worth more than gold

The path is so narrow
Many will take no heed
But the believers bow down
Letting our Savior lead

Imagine a time
where pain is not
where hate is bound
Revenge forgot

This time comes soon
Our Lord is here
He hears the cry
His son shed our tear

Believe in Him
His perfect love
He is the light so bright
No evil dare trespass
Is ours if we move
Follow Him above

Dan, I thought this was particularly beautiful. I just loved the first two lines. How very true and how wonderful that we are living in the warmth of that light! With love, Deb

it reminds me of when I was a kid in a dark room afraid of the buggars...and then turn on the light and everything is fine!

This is quite good. I especially liked the lines:
Imagine a time
where pain is not
where hate is bound
Revenge forgot

Keep writing!

I especially love the stanza, "Imagine a time where pain is not, where hate is bound, Revenge forgot" because it flows so beautifully and leaves a lasting impression. Iím interested in seeing more poetry from you. I like your other stuff but I always return to my love of poetry. :o) P.S. Picked up The Running Girl today. Surprisingly short but Iíve been told itís a great book! :o)
