TITLE: For LIGHT is our affliction...
By Lisa Walker Thomas

For our ligh affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. II Corithinans 4: 17 & 18

This scripture is a NOW scripture. It is a NOW scripture because it captures anything that anyone could ever be experiencing in their life at any given moment. Whatever the affliction is that we may be experiencing the bible tells us, that it is light. Why is it light, one may ask. It's light because whatever it is you're enduring will not kill you, but it will strengthen you. In whatever area in your life that God sees you need strength is where that strength will evolve after the affliction is over.

If you're going through a broken heart, you were apparently leaning on someone else, well God needs you to lean on him, so he's strenghthning your TRUST.

If you are going through doubt and unbelief God needs to strengthen your FAITH.

If you are going through fear, God needs to strengthen your POWER. For God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of Power, love and a sound mind.

If you are going through self pity, God needs to strengthen your CHARITY of others, take the focus off of yourself and see how you may be a belessing to someone else. When you begin to focus on being a blessing to someone else, your troubles don't seem so dominant, but somehow you get a handle on them and you can go on.

Light is our affliction and is but for a moment, what you're enduring whatever it is, it, in no way compares to what our Heavenly Father experienced. For Jesus experienced betrayal, light is our affliction, Jesus experienced humiliation, light is our affiliction, Jesus experienced ridicule, light is our affliction, Jesus experienced false accusers, light is our affliction, Jesus experienced the intricate pain of nails being woven through HIS flesh, light is our affliction, Jesus experienced HIS side being pierced, light is our affliction, Jesus experienced the weight of all of our sins, but most importantly Jesus experienced DEATH, so that we might live, so LIGHT is OUR affliction and it is but for a moment.

To God Be Glory, Majesty, Dominion and Power and HE deserves the Highest praise. God Be with you.

Some good thoughts. The statement, "It's light because whatever it is you are experiencing will not kill you..." may be inacurate for some people. The difficulty they experience may well kill them. It still may be considered as light affliction in the context of Pauls words. It may be worth some investigation. Just some thoughts.
