Today I asked my auntie and little cousin "what comes to mind when they hear the word path?" Immediately my auntie said "walk through," and my cousin agreed. Seconds later my auntie said the word "trail." Those comments are not unusual when we think of paths, in fact they are correct. Everyday we walk, ride, or drive through paths. My cousin is in the 7th grade and she rides the bus to and from school. On the way to the bus stop she takes the same path, as well when she gets out of school. See, we take paths without even acknowledging that they are paths. I remember a couple of weeks ago my cousin showed me her middle school yearbook. Towards the back of the yearbook it displays pages for students that died within the school year. It was one particular girl who looked familiar to me, and I asked "what happened?" She told me that the little girl was suppose to wait on the bus. Instead the little girl saw one of her cousins driving, and she decided to catch a ride home. I believe it was hot that day, so maybe that was her reason for not waiting on the bus. However, the little girl did not make it home that day. On her way home the car some how was in an accident. The little girl was dead and the driver was alive. That particular day when she decided to get in the car she didn't take the usual path. Paths are not only trails and places that you can walk through. Paths are also choices. The Bible says "He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name sake." Everyday when we wake up in the morning and go out into the world we take paths. I have learned the most important thing about paths, which is the path lead by Christ is the best path to travel on.

I liked it. I so do agree with that last sentence.

Well put...I do understand also...You make a very valid point...Psalms 32:8 speaks of this also...I enjoyed your writing...

I liked your statement about how we take paths without even acknowledging that they are paths - so true!
Some great thoughts here. Maybe if you broke this into a couple paragraphs it would flow better. Just a thought.

Its a bit awkward in its construction, being a solid paragraph with many different ideas. I liked the final line as well, though perhaps you could have hinted how we could find that path, and what is involved with listening for and hearing His voice as He leads us.

Good effort.

it's good to remember when times are rough, that God is leading...He's the shepherd...I'm just the dumb sheep... nice piece.

Your last line summed up your entire article. Some good points were brought up and you stayed on the subject. Good effort.

Danielle, you rounded this up very well with the story of the little girl and the fact that paths aren't just things we walk through, they also involve choices. Good contribution to the Challenge. My only critique would be to break your work up with paragraphs. It not only makes it easier to read, but also accentuates the points you want to make. Otherwise things merge in together and sometimes lose their "punch". With love, Deb
