Evidence of spring has bathed the countryside. God’s “Masterpiece 2004” is gloriously coming to life! Trees are leafing out. Fields are being planted. Some are coming up. Lawns are turning green. Flowers are once again reappearing for another season of beautiful splendor.
For LIFE to grow a seed must be planted.
……..Ah, the power of the seed!
There is another kind of seed that is too often planted but is invisible to the untrained eye. It is a seed that should be burned rather than planted and allowed to bear fruit for its fruit is deadly to our spirit. It is the seed of unforgiveness.
This seed is often planted in the hearts’ soil that is fertile with hurt and pain. When growth begins the plant spreads quickly and out of control. This young plant requires much attention if it is to flourish. If left alone and ignored it would wither and die. Some of us go to great lengths to nurture the life of this particular seedling for our spiritual and emotional diets feed solely upon its fruits. It is a diet that consists of bitterness, resentment, anger and hate. For the sake and well-being of our spirit, seeds of unforgiveness should never be allowed to reach fertile soil.
For UNFORGIVENESS to grow a seed must be planted.
……Ah, the power of the seed!
There is yet another kind of seed known as LOVE that, when given the proper attention, explodes into a thing of beauty covering all transgressions and choking out unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, anger and hate producing a bountiful harvest of peace, joy, love, and forgiveness.
For LOVE to grow a seed must be planted.
…..Ah, the power of the seed!
“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” Psalm 32:1
“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.” Colossians 3:13
