At first, when I thought of worship...I imagined hands raised, singing praise songs in a church service full of people. I'm reminded of the Michael W. Smith song, Heart of Worship. I love it.

But I've learned, from growing up in the church, to making my way back to the church as an adult, worship is so much more than this. I believe worship is obedience. Anyone can come into a church building, sing the songs, raise their hands, and shed the tears. But how many go back out the door living obedient lives for Jesus Christ?

Real worship is when you are alone, all by yourself; you're confronted with a temptation and you decide to stay obedient to Christ by walking away from it. Jesus loves this kind of worship. You humble yourself down and accept the fact that your life is not your own anymore. You surrendered it to Jesus Christ. Now He is the Master and you are His vessel.

The best feeling in the world is walking into Sunday morning worship knowing you escaped Friday night's temptation. Be real. Worship God. Jesus loves you. Peace...
