For me to worship the Lord is an everday matter full of joy and revelation, sharing with others the greatest story, the greatest truths, the greatest life instruction, love! To see the joy on faces as they discover a new world, to watch them grow in the Lord. To witness the loosening of chains is an awesome privledge.

For me part of my mission is to show through my poems, my songs, my life the power of the Lord's love for all humanity and to open eyes and ears to the endless possibilities that enrich the lives of those who truly believe.

I hope the following lyrics will give you food for thought and maybe be able to share them with others as part of your daily worship.

LOOSEN MY CHAINS

Open up your eyes
Can't you see the pain
Can't you hear the teardrops
Falling through the rain
The man standing next to you in me
Loosen my chains and set me free

Open up your eyes
Look across the sea
Can't you hear the guns
One day it could be me
The man standing next to you is me
Loosen my chains and set me free

Listen can you hear
The bells so full of fear
Can you hear the cry
That cracks the clear blue sky
The man standing next to you is me
Loosen my chains and set me free

Listen to your heart
Feel the world around
Stretch out your hand to freedom
Throughout the land
The man standing next to you is me
Loosen my chains and set me free

They all close their eyes
They don't want to see
They are all the ones
Who are crucifying me
The man standing next to you is me
Loosen my chains and set me free

Song written as part of a musical entitled 'Second Coming' - 1981

That was powerful stuff. I am glad that setting someone free from whatever binds them is just a much an act of worship as having a quiet time with God.

would love to hear with the music.
what kind of musical instrutment would be playing this song?

Thanks for your kind words. The song was originally written for Rock Group set up, for a group of teenagers in a Youth Theatre I set up. Anyone can get in touch and I can mail a CD of the real thing.

Your message and poem are very thought provoking,Dave. As the bible says What ever you do unto others you do unto me.Very True.

I have just realized your poem was actually a song but the message is still the same. Keep up the good work.
