"AH! Good old water" 10-year-old Carmen thought as she was drinking a huge glass full. There was no doubt about how thirsty she was, the glass was completely empty. After finishing the glass of water, she began to think about what life would be like without water.
Carmen thought of horrible things. She wouldn't be able to take a shower or wash her hands. "Ok, I won't eat until I can wash my hands", she said to herself. "Anyone can go a day or two without eating, but I still would need water to drink!" Next, she remembered that her Mom would not be able to wash her clothes. That can easily be solved, she thought and smiled, all I have to do is ask Mom and Dad for some money and go buy some new clothes. "Yeah right," she murmured,"like they would dish out the money." "Get real", she told herself.
Quickly she scurried out of the kitchen and up she ran to her room. Lying on the soft bed, Carmen began to think about how thirsty she was earlier. She then remembers how thirsty Jesus was on the cross. It brought tears to her eyes. If I had been there I would have given him a big glass of water to quench his thirst, she thought. Still crying, she whispered, "after all you have done for me on that cross, that would be the least I could do for you."
