Water and Grace

Water...it slips quietly, softly
from the sky...like clear liquid air.
And everything it touches is changed.
It gently pushes the dust and debris
of this world away...
holds it tightly, and carries it back to earth...
where it came from.
It flows on....seeking a place to collect and rest.
It refreshes....it gives life.
It makes things new.

Water...it reminds me of grace.
It fell softly in drops from heaven
to a lonely, awful hill.
It flows over all the earth...freely...
changing everyone it touches.
It washes away the debris of this world
and takes it back to a hidden, forgotten place.
It seeks a heart to collect and rest.
It makes life joyful....and new.
It makes me new.

Interesting and with a message to all. I liked the line:

"It fell softly in drops from heaven
to a lonely, awful hill"

Good job.

Beautifully written. It reads well. You have chosen your words carefully and structured the poem well.

I liked this poem and the comparison to grace.
