Jackson 04/27/04  LEAVE COMMENT ON ARTICLE  SEND A PRIVATE COMMENT  SEND ARTICLE TO A FRIEND Throughout my life I have searched for happiness. Satan offered me different outlets, saying he had the answers. I trusted him. And at first, I was happy. But my life was quietly going into a downward spiral. I didn't realize I was dealing with Satan, but now I know. He doesn't offer you anything that doesn't have consequences tied to it. Also, you're never filled, chasing after happiness that's never found. Then Jesus came and told me the truth. Even now, when everything isn't going exactly right; I deal with trials, tribulations, and disappointments; yet I can still smile. :o) If life is going great...or not so great, I'm learning to be happy because I'm learning to trust Him. Water symbolizes life. We all need water. Not the kind that runs out and has to be refilled. But the kind that is everlasting and never leaves us empty. Jesus Christ is the only Person that can give this to you. Accept nothing less. He loves you. Peace... Thank you for your encouraging words. Dave Wagner 05/03/04 I wish you would have given examples of hos Satanb tempted you and offered you empty promises...how did you know it was Satan? How can you tell the difference between "the downward spiral" and trials/tribulations? How do things get presented to you, for your consideration? In what way? How does Satan offer you something, and how does that differ from how Jesus offers you the water you refer to at the end? If I wasn't a Christian, I would be thoroughly confused by your submission....but I am a Christian, so I'm only partially confused. What are the dynamics involved...what vested interest does Satan have in deceiving you? How does the "water" manifest itself in your life? What are the benefits? How can I recognize the same patterns in my life? I would have benefited more, as a reader, if you had gone a bit deeper into your points. As it is, it's a nice read, but has no aftertaste. Thanks for the effort, though. Eric C. Jackson 05/03/04 The only mistake I feel made with this can be I didn't concentrate on the reader while posting this on a public site. I was venting more than anything else. I said whatever came to heart and left it as that. Others may not understand it, but I needed to write only what I did. I wouldn't do it differently.
