IN HIS SERVICE

When I wake up, I am thankful for a new day to give honor to our Lord. The most important aspect I have learned in Christian living is giving and serving God. A day that goes by that I have not been productive for Him is a day wasted. I look forward to speaking with my husband and children everyday about God as well as reflecting on a bible scripture and making time to pray to Jesus for His help and guidance. It is labors of love for our Savior that mean the most to me. Constant thoughts of mine are how can I better reach out to as many children and adults in my life and sharing His good news.

The following is a scripture that made an impact on me : Acts20: 35 In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring ye ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of Lord Jesus, that He himself said, it is more blessed to give than to receive. I reflect on all my actions after reading this and think to myself will this be helping someone the way
Christ would want me to help them and if so, then proceed doing this labor of love.

Galatians 6:4 But let each man prove his own work, and then shall he have his glorying in regard of himself alone, and not of his neighbor - is a passage that has been pressed upon my heart. This tells me I must do what He calls on me to do and not wait for someone else to do it or say it. He created us to be productive, responsible intelligent human beings and we are fully able to offer labors of love in a variety of ways. Jesus demonstrated that work was not about being a carpenter; it was about spreading the gospel, helping each other and giving to each other on many different levels. There is
work that we can all do to honor our merciful God. Being Prayerful, a good neighbor, showing love and kindness, studying the bible with one another , perhaps getting a bible to another part of the world. I reflect on what I can contribute that will show Jesus I love Him and believe in Him. I hope that He guides my way to help someone else know what I have learned and what a joy it is to be in His service.

True labors of love will help souls in need. I hope and pray someone reading this will be moved to better understand that what you hold in your heart will help you to perform blessed labors of love that are pleasing to our almighty God. May God richly bless you and guide you in laboring for Him.

Please note that this line should have read-- Jesus demonstrated that work was not only about being a carpenter;

The word only was inaderventently left out.

Thank you and may God bless you all...Julie

being able to give to others when they are in need is a true privilege.

As a new Christian, I struggle to be in His service in a typical way. Because my husband is not a Christian I cannot devote the usual time to my church. So my service to Him is more behind the scenes: prayer, phone calls, writing notes, giving what I can financially. When my husband finally comes to the Lord, someday soon I hope, I will be able to do more. Thank you for your encouraging words.
