Why is it that we see it in others
and not in ourselves.
When I think of pride I recall the verse in Proverbs, "pride goeth before destruction".
How many times have we been in destruction and not the real construction of the things of Gods way.
And simply God's way could be a friendly smile, a loving hug, a kind word.
Oh yes, and another simple way of God is to sometimes say, "I am wrong".
Acknowledging the pride in my own life and getting rid of it when it pops its ugly head up has actually been the most refreshing, energizing and rewarding of lifes lessons I have ever discovered.
What I have found out in my adventure in the Christian walk is the opposite of pride is to be humble. Oh yes for years I thought for sure I am a humble Christian believer, I thought I honestly listened and had the right attitude. Sorry to say - how many times I have been wrong in my actions, my words, handling situations.
And now...I am under construction and not destruction!
