Topic: Pride (04/12/04)

TITLE: The Wall of Pride
By Vanessa Severino

Pride, is sin. Its a wall that seperates us from Christ. Pride makes us unteachable. The Lord speaks His wisdom into our hearts, and because of pride, we think our own agendas has enough wisdom in them to get us through life ok, and we stubbornly chose our will instead of His. That is pride. Pride is trying to accomplish life on our own strength, and then when all else fails, then go crying to God for help, instead of going to him first. Pride makes us unteachable.
The best prayer we could ever pray to our Savior, is "Lord, break down this wall of pride in my life, I don't want anything to seperate me from all you desire to accomplish in and through me. I through away all I know, count it all rubbish, and I am standing before you naked of any prior opinion or knowledge or encouragement I feel I could offer to society, and to my own life, and claim without you in it, I can accomplish nothing, I desire to become a fool, so I could become wise. Help me only give others the words you want them to have, rather than teach them what I feel will help them, let me be open to what you would have them know. Let me allow you to do your job,and only do the job you assigned for me to do.If there are areas in my life, where I dont realize I am being proudful, reveal those to me also, so I can be delivered from anything that is displeasing to you.I realize when we fail to go to you for help, we are being proudful, and I am sorry for hurting you in this way.Amen"
Once the wall of pride is knocked down in your life, you start to become a more forgiving more understanding more merciful child of God. Even if those around you do foolish things, that you would never dream of doing or saying, you dont look down at them or judge them, but realize they are hurting and as much in need of the Savior daily as you are.We have more patience and tolerance, for those around us, and see without God we are all lost, once the wall of pride doesnt have a stronghold in our life. I pray the Lord helps you, the way He helped me. Minus pride, our love ones could correct us, and we won't feel attacked or criticized, but helped out of love, the removable of pride makes us willing vessels, open for the transformation he would like to take place in our lives.GOd bless you. I pray those of you that are missing out on all GOd has for you due to pride that you dont realize you have, I pray the Lord reveals it to you, and you get victory in Jesus Christ. We are all nothing and lost without Him, but in Him, we accomplish many things. Trust in Him completely, He is all you need, be humble enough to admit you need His help. He could help make you that humble, and even more humble each and every day, until we unite with Him in heaven. We are all just sinners saved by grace. Those who don't realize this, and think they are going to heaven because of something they did, are in a serious stronghold of pride, I pray for all who are allowing pride to ge t in the way of all God has for their lives, and all he desires to accompish through them. But if they are not giving him all the glory to where they are now from where they once was, another form of pride. He is responsible for all the good that is in our lives, and accomplished through us. God bless

We must first recognize that pride is our downfall before we can ask God to remove the wall of pride from us and then we can achieve all the good things you set out in your article.

Pride makes us unteachable. That is so true. What a great article on how not to be full of ourselves... err pride.
