I have always loved writing stories, poems, and songs but never had time to do any extensive writing until I retired. Since then I have published two books of puppet scripts, the first book in a series for children, and two novels.
The puppet books were the easiest projects because I had been writing scripts for years when my family was involved in a puppet ministry called The Redeemed Rascals. We did shows at children's church, VBS programs, children's hospitals, Girls' Clubs, and library summer programs. It was such a joy to see the looks of delight on the children's faces (adults too) and know they were learning about God's love in a fun way. The most fun about publishing these books was the amazing time we had recording the CDs. My whole family was involved in portraying the puppet characters. My kids are now grown, but they still talk about the fun times we had doing the puppet shows. Now my grandkids are enjoying the stories as they continue the family tradition of performing puppet shows.
I had never dreamed I would write a novel, but when I had a severe allergic reaction to medicine and couldn't do much, God gave me an idea for a story. The story kept getting longer and longer until I had a 60,000+ word novel.
I am amazed at how God is revealing himself to me as I write about his love and forgiveness. My prayer is that others will be drawn closer to him as they read my books.

MY NEWS
I am excited about my newest novel, Easy Way Out, which is a love story that takes the reader from the joys of a match made in heaven to the heartache of betrayal to the sacrifice of forgiveness. It is a suspenseful story that will take the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Jackie's life was perfect - devoted husband, fantastic friends, promising career - until one day when her world came crashing down around her. Faced with a potentially deadly situation, the perfect solution came unexpectedly. Will she take the easy way out or face her problem head on?
This book is dedicated to all soldiers who have served or are serving in our armed forces. Their bravery and dedication to keeping our country safe is to be commended. May God bless each of them and grant them peace. It is also dedicated to all soldiers' spouses, children, family, and friends who suffer pain and heartache during their separations. Having been a military wife, I understand what it's like to live each day praying that soldiers won't appear at the door with bad news. God bless them all as they keep the home fires burning.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- My first novel, Misunderstood Devotion, is a story about my life as a military wife during the Vietnam era. I wrote it for my children and grandchildren so they would know what a great Christian man their dad and granddad was. They encouraged me to publish the book, and I'm glad I did because I have received many wonderful comments from readers who were touched by the love and dedication he had for God, his country, and his family. Others thanked me for allowing them to better understand the joys and heartaches military families experience.
- Why Not Me? is the first book in my children's series Adventures of Cassie and Carson. Four more books are in progress. I have always loved to draw, so I am doing my own art work for these books. It has been quite a challenge, but I am enjoying drawing again.
The series is about Cassie and Carson. Everyone calls them "the twins" because they were born the same day in the same hospital, live on Melody Avenue, are in the same class at Springdale Elementary School, and are best friends. They are excited about sharing their adventures and hope the readers enjoy reading about their fun times and sometimes not-so-fun times as they help each other search for answers to their dilemmas.
Why Not Me? is the first book in the series. In this story their friendship is tested when Cassie orders Carson to go away and leave her alone.
Great series for teachers K-3
