Betty is a graduate of New Mexico State University, where she received her RN degree. She is a published author who enjoys putting into words what God places on her heart. Writing for and about senior citizens, Christian humor, and children's poetry are her main areas of interest. She is the recipient of several Faithwriter's awards, including Editor's Choice.
She is an animal lover, and she and her husband share their home with three parrots. Betty is involved in educating the public about the welfare of parrots both in the wild and in captivity. She and her Red Fronted Macaw, Ace, have been guest speakers at her community's summer reading program. Writing about her parrots antics and adventures is also of great interest to Betty.

Betty was born in rural Illinois. After graduating from high school at the age of seventeen, she moved to the southwest with her parents. She is now a retired-early-by-choice RN, and makes her home in Texas with her husband, who is a cotton and peanut farmer. She has a daughter, a step daughter, and five perfect grandchildren. She and her husband are both active in their church.
