To clarify my research.
I pull out a volume,
For I cannot presume
That by staying on my bookshelf
It will read itself.
Of course
I must check the source
Of the information
Within my communication,
Lest I find my planned book
Has been forsook
By those with whom I will be pleading
To add it to their reading.
Leafing through the pages
Is taking me ages,
But my mind doesn’t suit a
Computer...
“If with your time you must be frugal,
It may be quicker to google,”
Advise my on-line friends
Who are on top of the latest IT trends,
“Or perhaps
If you downloaded a few apps
Onto your phone…”
They say in an encouraging tone
Well, maybe I could try it
But if I complicate my mental diet
With jargon and instruction;
Distraction and destruction
Are a strong likelihood.
Which would not be good.
Losing track of my progress
Would ensure that success
Was ever more elusive,
No matter how effusive
Might be their advice.
So for me, it’s: “No dice!”
To complete my book
I’ll never need to look
Any further than my pen and notepad,
Ever so glad –
Even indulging in self-flattery -
That I’ll never need a battery!
Writing rivals may work faster
But for them it’s a disaster
Without doubt
If their power goes out.
For in the end,
They completely depend
On “All techno action…”

Many of us "mature individuals" lol...will especially relate to this gem. My husband has issues with the computer especially, I shared this with him and he chuckled at your clarity in what could very well be him as the MC.
When I read your stories I never know if you could top your last entry until you come up with yet another "beauty."
Thank you!
God Bless~
