We ought to do without.
“Put that away and talk to me!”
It makes me want to shout.
One types away a string of words
On keys so very small
That fingers of an adult size
Will hardly fit at all.
To text at dinner table
When folks are eating yet,
Polite society declares,
“It’s not good etiquette.”
To text while driving is not safe.
It chances one’s survival
And doesn’t grant a guarantee
Of a secure arrival.
One shouldn’t take a walk and text
On sidewalks in the city.
Too many things can happen there
That aren’t very pretty.
While texting in a public place
Like church or theatre,
The wrath of those who sit nearby
Might possibly occur.
Indeed, since texting is so rude,
I really should eschew it,
But if I tell the honest truth,
I must admit—I do it.

I'm old fashioned. I must admit I hardly text while out! I usually answer my friend's texts (if not urgent or in need of a response) at home during the evening.
But, as my sister says "I'm not the norm, I'm ab-norm!" LOL
I enjoyed this accurate piece on society today!
Blessings~
I smiled at the last line - for it's true for most of us. We all have a love/hate relationship with technology.
