With merciless pain unbuffered.
My nights were filled with terror,
Actions were fraught with error.
Once upon a time I cried,
To cover my hurt, I lied.
Lost in a world of fears,
I hid my heart broken tears.
My soul was filled with dread.
My mind longed to be dead.
I woke each morning to badness,
To live in a world of sadness.
One night as I lay dying,
I prayed for all my trying.
To God for the strength to live.
I begged Him to forgive.
Suddenly, a vision came.
Jesus was its name.
He wrapped me in His love,
Straight from my Father above.
A voice spoke to me softly,
Gently with words so loftily.
That gave to me God’s will.
He told me to be still.
I found my spirit that night,
In the middle of the moonlight,
God filled my soul with peace,
In a genuine sweet release.
Oh Lord, I couldn’t be more unworried,
Untroubled, more calm, less hurried.
My days go by in an air carefree,
Your love is all I can see.
