Moral lines now blurred,
There seems to be no "black and white"
And "gray" becomes preferred.
It happens, oh, so gradually,
Accepting what seems trifling,
And suddenly awake to find
The moral culture stifling.
The moral values of our land
Seem changed just overnight,
And those who stand for "black and white"
Are crucified on sight.
Sins now pass as legal,
So moral they must be,
And souls now blinded by the "gray"
Agree to disagree.
But there remains a remnant
Who stand on God's foundation,
Believing on His Holy Word
For every generation.
Attitude's so crucial,
For God demands we love,
We all are still just sinners
Saved by His grace above.
Loving as we have been loved,
And gently drawn to Him,
And so responding graciously
When moral lines grow dim.
It's love that drew us to Him,
And love that leads the way,
With prayer behind us we can lead
And thus His love convey.
"Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other's faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let that peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful." (Colossians 3:12-15 NLT)
"Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don't worry or be afraid of their threats. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentile and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!" (I Peter 3:13-17 NLT)
