what were apostles feeling then--
Trembling behind bolted doors,
shame and fear locking them in
Until they had a visitor,
the One who loved so very much
Filled with awe, they saw Him new
He said, “Thomas, come and touch”
“Give up, give in, give all to Him”
are words on which we choke
Control? Possessions? Loved ones too?
They’re yours? -- Mistrust stabs with stingy pokes
Until we come to realize the
message that hung upon the cross
We’ll be wanderers with barren souls
forever searching, remaining lost
Believe, trust, keep submitting to God
and observe how He cares for things living
Land dwellers, sea creatures, plants, even fleas
Every need is supplied by His giving
It’s only when we break bondage from
the world’s many, misleading roads
That we’ll be free, slaves nevermore
God can strengthen what evil corrodes
Stop trying to impress neighbors and friends
with things that money acquires
Rather be servants and stewards for God,
each good action will teach and inspire
That’s how we can shine bright lights
in a world growing dim from sin
Whenever we surrender all to God,
that’s living right--He smiles, we win

I was a little confused at the title and first stanza. It doesn't seem to fit with the theme or rest of the poem.
Keep writing.
