I glance at my gold watch; 7:59.
My light blue shirt compliments my blue eyes;
Creased, button-down, contrasting a black suit jacket.
Excuse me, sir, I never do this, but your eyes amaze me.
I blush, but smile and turn my head to see;
Blonde hair, my age, nice build, a cross of gold.
You look very familiar to me. I’m so embarrassed.
I wonder if she knows I am someone,
My face graces the back of all I write.
I think you spoke at my church last Sunday.
Smart dress, not short, not long, not old, and boots.
Clean teeth, green eyes, and yes that cross of gold.
Would you like to have a cup of coffee?
“I really have to be somewhere, but thanks.”
A pout, full lips, a sigh, a raised eyebrow.
Just one cup, can’t hurt, only a minute?
I glance at my gold watch; 8:00.
My light blue shirt compliments my blue eyes
Waiting for a coffee cup of coffee in Salem
Would you sign your book for me, I just live …
The steaming brew of a few brief moments,
But she was wearing that small cross of gold.
I find and glance at my gold watch … it’s too late, much too late.
“Taxi!”
