Adam: Come on honey. You can do this.... It can't be that bad, can it?

Eve (Under her breath): 'What's childbirth?' I asked. 'Oh, you'll see,' God said. Oh yeah. I see all right... I just had to eat that piece of fruit, didn't I?

Adam: Yes. Yes you did, honey.

Eve: Adam, there are times when you should agree with me, and times when it would be best to not agree with me or ignore me. Care to guess which one this is?

Adam: Uh... the second choice?

Eve: Uh-huh. Maybe that piece of fruit didn't go to your head after all.

Adam: Eve, what made you eat that thing in the first place? I mean... it was a serpent. Talking to you. That should have been your first clue...

Eve (glaring): Drop the subject, or I may have to help hasten God's promise of death.

Adam: Okay, okay. I get the idea. A little cranky today, are we?

Eve: Would you like to grow a human being inside of you for nine months and then try to push it out? I didn't think sooooooaaaaaAAAHHHHHHH!

Adam: Shesh! What was that?!

Eve: I just discovered the true meaning of the word "pain."

Adam: Like when I...

Eve (interrupting): MUCH worse than when you stepped on that thorn bush. Just trust me on this one. If you'd like, lean close, and I'll try to give you just a small taste of what I'm experiencing right now.

Adam: I think I'll take your word for it.

Eve: Wise man. Oh! I.. think... this... might... be... it... AAAAHHHHHHHH!

*baby cries*

Adam(While looking from the baby to himself, and to Eve, and back, studying each): It's... a boy!

Eve (taking the child from Adam): Oh, he's... he's beautiful. What should we name him?

Adam: How about Cain?

Eve: I like it. It's hard to believe that even out of our sin and out of pain God would give us something so beautiful and amazing, isn't it?

Adam: It sure is.

*Baby's cries intensify*

Adam: So... what do we do with it?

Eve: That's the question of the year, isn't it? (looks up) God?

Most enjoyable, especially the ending. I believe it was Mark Twain who said when children are born we should put them in a barrel, cut a hole in it to feed them through; when they become teenagers we should seal up the hole! Every parent's question: what do we do now?
