I wish that I could watch you grow up and become your own woman. I can see so much of your mother and father in you and I cannot wait to see how you grow into the person that God has intended you to become. But I can't do what I want to.
I do not know why God has allowed you to be found, after all that we tried to do to hide you from the court's eyes. And I feel that I might have failed you in some way. Please do not forget the commandments and all that I have taught you—but do not allow the king to see who you really are neither. For I fear your safety is truly at stake. Consequently, I fear that I have not taught you enough about your own heritage.
So, because of that, remember that even if you are not chosen by the king, you are still a daughter of the Great I Am. You must conduct yourself as such. Your forefathers were called forth from their own people and a new covenant was created—do not forget this covenant like so many of our own people have forgotten.
Remember what Samuel the prophet was told by the Great I Am; that man may look at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. My young star, keep your heart pure before the Lord throughout these next twelve months. Also, remember how King David kept his heart mindful of the Lord's own heart; I urge you, sweet cousin, to do the same. I have seen many people become drunk on power only to fall before the humble.
I exhort you to remain true even as we are exiled from our homelands. Remember that the Lord commands us to respect those whom He has placed in authority over us. My much-loved cousin, this was not a fate that I wished for you, but if it is God's will that you will spend the rest of your life within the king's harem, do so with dignity and always remember that you are a princess within the highest courts of Hashem.
Daily, I sit in the king's courts. We will find a way to communicate, even if it is by letter.
Do not fear, my Hadassah—the Lord is your strong tower. Lean on Him for everything in everyday.
Your loving Uncle,
Mordecai
