"George," Rachael answered with a nod.
"George," Connie volunteered.
"Same here. So, now we're officially members of the I hate George club!"
"Um, mine's my cousin Terri." Lukas slowly spoke up, looking between his friends. It was odd they all had a cousin with the same name they couldn't stand—except for him.
Connie giggled and snapped a Kit-Kat in two, offering half to Amanda. It seemed that that very motion spurred Amanda's next question.
"Outside of chocolate, what is your favorite way to ignore them?"
"Salt!"
"Wait, there's a way to make them go away?" Lukas asked, looking around at the girls, confused.
"Both!" Rachael stated and laughed loudly at the looks of surprise. "Well, it would be nice if I could have it at the same time...but the best thing I've found to make George seem like he doesn't even exist...."
The other two girls sat up. "Really? What is it?"
"A dark chocolate bar that has raspberry bits in it...oh... makes George's annoying habits vanish...Momma swears by it, too."
Connie leaned forward smiling. "You wouldn't happen to have..."
"I wish, Momma guards them with a vengeance..."
The girls started laughing hard, picturing Mrs. Wendy defending her chocolate. Lukas leaned back, frowning, and then ever so slowly a light dawned in his eyes. He grinned, putting down the chocolate chip cookie that Rachael had been eyeing for the last few minutes, and unhurriedly scooted back.
"I'm glad I don't know that cousin!" he stated, trying not to laugh himself. His statement caused the three girls to laugh harder. Amanda and Connie clutched each other, desperately trying not to collapse with hysterics. Rachael clung to the table, doubled over.
"Um...Lukas, dude?" A younger man peered into the room, frowning in confusion.
Lukas looked up at the young man, wiping his eyes. "Yeah, Marcus?"
"How can you NOT know your cousin?"
Marcus' innocent question caused the hilarity to grow. Soon giggles and chuckles turned into belly laughs. It took Lukas several minutes to calm down as he gasped for breath.
"Marcus, I'll explain it to you later...I promise...Just trust me, this is one cousin that you never want to know."
Lukas stood, still chuckling and walked towards Marcus. He could have sworn he heard one of the girls whisper, "Always have a happy..." Before they were once again consumed with hysterics.
