Holy Fire blazed from the deepest chambers of His being – He must keep the Rabbi reading, for only this Rain could quench the burning in His chest. Yet the day was cool in the Temple courts.
Questions begat answers from The Writings. Questions begat more Words – more Rain. His understanding beyond that of learned Scholars. More … He craved more. Please read more.
He closed His eyes, and Holy Wind carried Him into His Father’s Presence and, O how He longed to stay! Father, I miss You, I love You.
Then … as transition kindled His sweet soul, His young eyes awoke to an awareness – the last touch of childhood lifted its veil of innocent fragility and … He knew. Abba, Abba Father, may I stay? Here among Your Words … until…?
Holy Wind caressed one reluctant tear, and clouds covered the warm sun.
A voice, familiar, quickened an affection silenced during those illuminating days and he turned to see His mother scurrying up stone layers to reach Him.
“Son! O my Son! Why have You treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for You!”
“Why were you searching for me?” He asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”
He then went down to Nazareth with His parents and was obedient unto them.
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
Holy Rain, Holy Fire, Holy Wind carried Him on His long journey … carried Him into the last awakening … the last transition; when last He touched Earth … and went Home.
Father? How long … until …?
And the Angels broke forth in song.
Based upon the passage of Luke 2:41-52
*Author’s note: It wasn’t until many centuries later Jewish culture created the Bar Mitzvah and the Bat Mitzvah as transition into adulthood for boys and girls. Although children were raised according to Deuteronomy 6:7 “And you shall teach it to your children …”* they were not expected to keep the 613 commandments (mitzvot) God gave to the Jews until this spiritual awakening and accountability was placed upon them at the age of 12 and 13yrs.
The literal translation for Bar Mitzvah is, ‘son of the commandment.’
Side note: Boys could ask to stay under more intense, deep study of The Writings. This deep study was called Derash.
