Although you live on high O King
And rule with a mighty glove,
Of your mercies do the angels sing
As they praise your greatness from above.
Seated on your palatial throne
Your arms stretch out for mine,
And with luminosity your face has shone
Through sin’s darkness - as a piercing sign,
That regardless of my fallen state,
For your Precious Light I need not wait.
How great you are my Sovereign Lord
With majesty and power,
To provide me with your promising Word
From your celestial, white tower.
You stoop down to care for me
And for those who thirst and cry,
To open our eyes that we might see
Your faithful heart on which we can rely;
And to the lowly and the destitute,
To show your wisdom absolute.
The thought that in your Awesome Grace
Rests our faith and peace and joy,
Brings carefree tears to my upturned face
That nothing can possibly destroy.
For you are Strength and Refuge to my soul,
And for your promises I openly praise;
And to all who listen, I eagerly extol
That they will last until the end of days.
For your enduring fingerprints in the dust of my life
Verify how you sustain me through all my strife.
Your glorious light streams into my heart
Evoking a rainbow and an innocent dove,
As symbols of the salvation you willingly impart,
To your unworthy child for the sake of love.
