It wasn’t really that long ago,
When we met, and said, our first hello.
It wasn’t really that long ago -
At least it seems that way -
When we met, and said, our first hello.
Remember the vows we did bestow,
By the stream, near that French café?
It wasn’t really that long ago.
Time passed too quickly, it was not slow.
It moved even faster than on that spring day,
When we met, and said, our first hello.
The kids grew tall with their eyes aglow,
And each left home to make their way.
It wasn’t really that long ago.
And as they found new lives to grow,
Ours returned to a memory replay,
When we met, and said, our first hello.
Now that life has neared its plateau,
Our hands we hold and pray.
It wasn’t really that long ago,
When we met, and said, our first hello.
