Could partially inspire a
Poem about a tint
That should quickly be out of print!
Yet those brothers Gershwin
Have now launched versh one…
Once their Rhapsody became a smash,
The Gershwins made lots of cash.
Here was a bridge towards the genre classic -
Though critics dismissed it as more “crass-ic!”
Yet while a few purists might revile;
This new blues music style
Was Azure-d of success
With the general public, no less
On to verse three,
Where we will see
Sound overtaken by mention of several hues
Of blues…
It’s therefore easy to remind
You of the Royal kind,
With the Duke (Ellington) and BB King
Doing their thing;
While Muddy Waters
Bought us
A little more time
To work on this rhyme.
Now it’s on to the shading
And the varied grading
Of this basic primary colour.
So I hope your mind will feel no duller
From exhausting its range.
The depth of Ultramarine
Has none of the green
That traces through Turquoise or Aquamarine -
And it’s also easy to reveal
It against the lightness of Teal
Similarly, the fire
Of Sapphire
Makes such a strong imPrussian
That it’s sure to be hushin’
Any Navy sup-porter,
Who oughta
Also opt for Cobalt.
Especially if he’s an old salt!
What rhyme can I possibly use to render
Fair treatment to a shrub like Lavender?
And since it’s still November
It’s very easy to remember
Forget me nots.
Though what’s
Next coming onto your screen
Is yet to be seen.
Skilled poets will be pleased to know
That it’s time for me to go.
Thus I’ll end this verbal ooze
With no further clues
Of how to make any further assaults all these blues;
And I’ll say my adieus...

It was "blue-tiful."
This is so you, and I love it!
