Its shy, fraternal unseen twin, of which we rarely talk,
Lurks slyly in the background. Does it even have a name?
It surely should, for its own form of misery to blame!
It overloads me with ideas, impossible to choose
The one to which to give a voice, so many days I lose.
The deadline swiftly sneaks upon me as I try to tame
Torrential floods of possibilities that swiftly came.
Each one possessing merits that are interesting, unique,
But which one inspiration to select and let it speak?
The constant stream of concepts rises to a river's rage,
Resulting, just as writer's block, in starkly empty page.
It is as if signs were removed from highways busy hubs.
I cannot know which way to go, my nails nipped to nubs.
My map, of course, is missing as I'm inundated here,
Too paralyzed to choose a way which may be wrong I fear.
My mind is overwhelmed with whirling twisters drawing all
The prospects to its vortex, whether quite immense or small.
I curry comfort, though, surmising I am not alone
To fight this unseen twin to writer's block, its name unknown.
