No swimmer I, in waters deep;
Iíve too much fear of drowning,
But when I delve into Godís Word,
I find His grace abounding.

Iím not content to splash around
In shallows near the shore,
For venture must I, deeper still,
As Scripture I explore.

And when I dive there in its depths,
I find commands and rules
And learn about His love for me,
More precious than rare jewels.

In studying my Saviorís life,
His teachings that inspire,
To live the way God wants me to
Becomes my heartís desire.
.
Washed over by the storms of life,
I feel His presence near me
And rest upon His promise dear,
That when I call, Heíll hear me.

For times I swim in currents deep
And fear what lies ahead,
Then Heís the lamp that lights my way,
And by His hand Iím led.

Itís not enough to glide along
While others need to know Him.
By His example Iím to live
So His love I can show them.

I LOVE your metaphor of delving into God's Word, "not content to splash around in shallows near the shore" (I'm right there with you!) You've filled this image-laden light-hearted poem with wit and wisdom. <3

Your ending was just perfect. This was wonderful; perfect rhyme and meter. It was engaging and told a very personal story. Loved it. Hope it does well with the judges.

I could not resist venturing over to level 4 to see what you had wrote. I can see why you are on this level.

I must say I love this. You said in beautiful poetic form what I said in devotional style.

The words flowed in unity much like a song. I can tell you know what you are talking about.

I look forward to reading more of your work

Blessings!
