Oh, to have been among the chosen few
that walked with God’s own Son
To have been taught, mentored through acts and words
by Him whose sin was none

Forgiveness imparted to Mary
when He drew that sandy line
Heart pounding, head bowed, eyes misty
ears heard words from lips divine

Their fishing boat rocked under the nightly shawl
wind and waves had the twelve afraid
Jesus slept till aroused by fear-filled men
when He spoke, the forces obeyed

Basketfuls of fish and bread fed thousands
hungering for truthful words
Hearts opened by Jesus through stories he told
He spoke like none they’d ever heard

On the death of good friend, Lazarus
Jesus wept and said a prayer
In the midst of mourners He spoke aloud
“Lazarus, come out of there.”

Miracles, parables, lessons they learned
through words from our Redeemer
Faith was birthed on grassy hills,
watered souls became much greener

The new covenant given at the Last Supper
over broken bread and wine
Told the twelve of His great sacrifice--
one love truly divine

How sad there are those whose empty hearts
still think the risen Lord dead
But for those who trust His saving words,
they know peace and joy--not dread

What an incredible thought - to hear the Bible directly from his own mouth. Beautifully described here. You blessed me with this! Thanks.
