Let living waters flow,
Words of truth, unfeigned, sincere,
Devoid of pride and show
Meant for those with ready ear
To nourish as they go.
So many couch in double speak
The way they truly feel
What they should shout they barely squeak
The truth so oft’ conceal
In fear of scathing harsh critique
They mouth but empty spiel.
Peer pressure forces lips shut tight,
In silence most conform;
Faced with darkness dressed as light
Recoil with hearts forlorn—
Let us of faith arise and fight—
No longer be lukewarm!
Speak truth in love, rebuke exhort,
All lying works expose—
God’s truth some men would dare distort
By ‘knowledge’ they suppose;
So by His Word and Spirit thwart
All those who would oppose.
The pen we wield is not for gain
In fallen worldly spheres—
With all within let us proclaim
As His appointed seers
The treasures fragile hearts contain
Destroying false veneers.
The heart exposed in printed press
Is there for all to see—
Take ample care your words express
Your life’s reality,
The truth you live your lines confess—
Faith’s actuality.
