I sit on my haunches, staring at the newest member of the servant family, as I lick myself clean. Too bad this one doesn't look like he's big enough to do much of anything. Except cry. And pull my tail. Oh well. He's cute enough, I suppose.

The young boy servant usually just lies there, with that plug stuck in his mouth. It's a good thing, too, because without it... Whoa. Does that boy have some lungs!

The big servants try to distract him with a rattle. It's quite amazing, really. This little thing that they shake at him makes him happy as can be. Why, he can even spit out his plug and still smile at that rattle. It's a small miracle.

I just don't see the appeal. All it does it make a sound. I can make lots of sounds. But does that sooth the young servant? No. Of course not. In fact, the big servants usually just kick me out when I try to comfort him with my lovely songs. Hmph. They just don't appreciate me.

Once I tried to wave my tail in front of him like a rattle, thinking maybe it was the movement and not the sound that soothed the young one. Boy did I learn my lesson on that one. I thought he pulled my tail clear off for a second. I was banished to the basement for a few hours after that "incident." But it's okay. I left a nice "present" for the elder servants, to show my appreciation. They should be glad that's all I did. I was the victim. I was the one wounded, after all.

The small servant scrunches up his face. Oh no. Here he goes again. And the elder servants bring out... the rattle! Saved again. He's so silly. He laughs at a mere piece of plastic that makes some noise. I'm glad I'm I'm not so easily amused. I'm much more sophisticated than....

Wait. What's that? Frenzied Ninja Cat Mode, commence! Must catch the magical red dot of random motion.
