The husband could not concentrate
His heart was void of peace
He spared his bride their troubles
Due to pride--that had to cease
Captive in the snare of fear
Emotions tumbled like tossed dice
He turned to God for guidance
Then he followed God’s advice
God waited patiently for this plea. In seeking Him we are blessed.

When through with his confession
They prayed and then both wept
Securities they once enjoyed
Were gone--replaced by debt
She realized how he’d shouldered
This load--alone and scared
What waited on their horizon
Left them both quite unprepared
Jobs vanish. Bank accounts dwindle. People struggle. God uses these times for our growth.

They gave it all to God who
Taught with loving discipline
They learned what mattered most
In starting over once again
He provided all their basics
Faith instructed not to worry
But when faith was thinning out
They begged, “Father--hurry, hurry!”
In God’s time, we are perfectly blessed.

During their lean years He watched
His plans for them unfolding
Each test and trial and circumstance
Still left them both beholden
Trained eyes saw through the lens of love
While their hearts expanse was broader
God’s connecting dots were people
That He used--His sons and daughters
Most of the time God uses ordinary people to carry out His planned blessings.

As sunlight warmed their future
With potential, debts got paid
Their humbled hearts beseeched Him,
“May these memories never fade
Use us as connective dots
That extend uncounted miles
Help us serve your children
With our gifts wrapped in Your smiles”
God enjoys blessing godly people

A thought provoking piece. It's hard to feel blessed when going through discipline, but blessed, nevertheless. Good job.

This is such a lovely piece. You told a beautiful story all while rhyming and flowing You made it look easy and I know it's anything but. You did a great job of writing on topic and delivering an important message.

I enjoyed this very much. It is probably indicative of more people than we can imagine. It is down to earth, real, and beautifully expressed.

You've done a good job of showing through your poem how God is with us in every circumstance, and therein is blessing.
