Life unravels thread by thread
Each strand we yank will make our bed
We pull them out of ignorance
“We did not know,” is our defense.
Like tattered sweaters with fraying yarns
By ignoring needs we risk bared arms
Frantic as ants in a flooded mound
Through desperation, our faith rebounds.
Alone, mistakes we can’t reweave
But Someone can, if we believe
He knits each babe within each womb
He rose triumphant from a tomb.
His love’s as strong as three-strand cable
With the Father’s strength we are enabled
To tie together unraveled rope
His lifeline gives the lost new hope.
When dawns are darkened by discord
Trust in Him, call to the Lord
Alone, resistance soon shall wane
We need someone, God is His name.
He has the unrelenting power
To gild us in our dismal hours
Together--burdens shrink to half
Together--joys bubble--with Him we laugh
Triune love, impossible to grasp
The pure devotion that makes it last
But last it will, on that rely
The Weaver's threads are all three-ply.
