I’ve watched stars softly sparkle their heavenly light,
gazed at the moon, watcher of the night,
I've watched the dew gently refreshing a rose,
laughed seeing a child kiss a sweet puppy’s nose,
and I’ve been astonished.

I’ve seen a rainbow form in a dishwater bubble,
observed images from the telescope, Hubble,
I’ve seen the beauty of a flowered field in the wild,
saw the wonder of possibility in a newborn child,
and I’ve been astonished.

I've watched a bird diligently building a nest,
beheld a deer in the woods standing meekly at rest,
I’ve watched caterpillars turn into butterflies,
watched lightening streak across midnight skies,
and I’ve been astonished.

I’ve seen food produced from the land,
seen the extraordinary ability of the human hand,
I’ve seen the wind rock the waters and boats at dock,
stared at the countless sands of weathered rock,
and I’ve been astonished.

I’ve watched icicles weep—winter’s tears,
watched hairs grow white over the years,
I’ve watched sunrises and sunsets color the skies,
watched one season be born as the former one dies,
and I’ve been astonished.

I’ve seen a spider weave a wondrous web—for prey,
seen the amazing information in a speck of DNA,
I’ve seen fireflies cavorting and twinkling in twilight,
gaped at waterfalls spilling down cliff’s of great height,
and I’ve been astonished.

I’ve watched images of our earth orbiting in space,
looked on as two little foals ran a field race,
I’ve watched refreshing rains water the earth,
pondered the miracle of every new birth,
and I’ve been astonished.

I’ve seen stalagmites formed in underground caves,
stood by the ocean encompassing its mighty waves,
I’ve seen these things and many, many more,
so many countless wonders to explore,
and be astonished.

So please tell me now, for I just don’t understand,
how people fail to see the Master’s hand—
all around—how can so many fail to see?
God. Everywhere. Oh mercy me…
it is an astonishment.

Absolutely beautiful. This poem is outstanding in so many areas. To mention a few - I loved how it flowed so effortlessly. I loved the meaning behind the entire piece. I loved the descriptive words and metaphors.

And, finally the conclusion was "astonishingly powerful" I loved this.

Great job. God Bless~

Oh I like this. I also have wondered how people can't see the obvious. It reminded me a tad of the song What a Wonderful World. Nice job.
