Isaiah prophesied the Lamb of God
Would live on earth, a man despised by men,
Yet who would take upon His guiltless self
The heavy burden of each person’s sin.
With shepherds in attendance, Christ was born
To Mary, as an angel had foretold.
She’d be the mother of God’s only Son,
Fulfillment of that prophecy of old.
And Joseph from angelic visit knew
This baby was to be Immanuel,
Conceived in Mary by the Holy Ghost,
Another prophecy fulfilled as well.
The Magi had exceedingly great joy
In finding promised King as baby boy.
In boyhood, Jesus grew both strong and wise;
Upon Him was God’s favor ever shown.
He lived a humble life of ministry
As Savior come to make salvation known.
Miraculously healing sick and lame,
He taught in parables of kingdom life
That God was first, and there should be no other,
And all should live as brothers without strife.
Betrayed, rejected, scorned, and scourged, the Lord
Was hung by those whom He had come to save.
He rose triumphant as He’d prophesied.
This promised King, Messiah, Holy One
Awaits each saint in heaven when life’s done.
