If tickets were required for God’s glorious universe,
I wonder which attraction would become a sellout first.

Brilliant stars with lovely dance steps, always certain,
Staged against a moonless night sky’s purple curtain?

Tops of mammoth mountains with their rocky shoulders seen,
Mantled in the purest white, above great valleys green?

Silken sunrise ribbons, purple, yellow, gray, and pink,
Tying heaven’s ball of gold to earth where colors sink?

Soft red and lilac sunset rays, that shine on ocean’s face,
Then gently shimmer on the waves before they creep away?

Fields of fragrant flowers, wearing every rainbow tint,
Frenzied with abandonment while waltzing with the wind?

All things that God created here are free;
They’re just a foretaste of eternity.
Though heaven’s not a total sellout yet,
There’s nothing we can pay or ticket get
By anything that we have done or made.
We must accept the price God’s Son has paid.
He give His life for us that we might live eternally
With Him in place more beautiful than any can foresee.

Very well written. I like the opening line, and especially like how you show that we can't buy our way into heaven, God's biggest and most magnificent display of all. Well done.

The cost was so dear to Jesus Christ. He paid a huge debt.

I love the concept, selling tickets to God’s glorious (and free) attractions. I wonder how many more of us would take the time to appreciate them if we actually had to pay to see them. Well written piece – I enjoyed it!

Very beautiful. I love your message and the elegant way you presented it. Congratulations for placing 10th in Masters and 13th overall.
