I stand here,
Unable to fathom all of what I see
Wedge clouds blowing through
Blowing out entire buildings
Acting as if they were never there
An amazing magic trick,
If only it wasn't so life impacting
Now you see it, now you don't
Poof! And it is gone!
With a rumble and a howl
Whole buildings are leveled.
Vehicles tossed around like children's toys
And, the clouds still aren't satisfied.
All of the meteorologists said
They promised that it was going to be bad.
But who would have thought,
It would be this bad?
No one did.
Why weren't we told?
Why weren't we warned?
It wasn't supposed to be like this—
Wave after terrifying wave
Too scared to breath
And yet, it was.
Who would have thought?
Who could have known?
That a house can blowout like this
Debris scattered for miles...without discretion
Flying projectiles of death and destruction
Pieces of a life-lost in wind
Shattered tokens lost forever
One weather blowout,
My life forever changed.
I still stand, grasping hard the hope
The truth that God is in control
After all, He is in control.
And we will rebuild everything once again.
Another weather blowout will happen
Somewhere else, but, all will be alright
Even now, miracles are around
Homes to restore
Restoration doesn't happen as quickly
Or easily as,
(we can only dream, me thinks)
Poof! It's there again!
