Have you my friend ever felt
His shouldered hand while you knelt,
Or heard His laughter now and then
In giggling brooks, on playful winds.
Have you my friend ever known
A love so strong that’s overthrown
The lust of evil’s quest for power
That tempts you in your darker hours.
Have you my friend ever witnessed
Awesome deeds of His existence,
Thirsty hearts that came alive
Fed with food that helped each thrive.
Have you my friend ever stared
At excellence un-compared,
Breathtaking art that leaves one hushed
Gorgeous pictures from His brush.
Have you my friend been convinced
That He lives--present tense,
That He was and will be too
Even when this age is through.
Faith in hearts will manifest
In His truths choose to invest,
Outstanding dividends will return
From the Master as you learn.
I pray for you my dear friend
Follow Him until life’s end
Accept the gift He wants to give
It’s wrapped in grace so you can live.
