Some shades of madness have no cure,
So we must fight the source
Before the outbreak spreads abroad
And all the world is cursed.
We send our medics far and wide
To keep the people safe;
Nobody can be infected
With all the windows taped!
The rabid words which tarnish laws
Must battle their vaccine;
We’ll build the walls of holy fear
And God will intervene—
But if the epidemic spreads
We’ll do whatever is takes;
We’ll crucify the carriers
Or burn them at the stake.
If anyone has been exposed,
Demolish every link:
He must be quarantined with care
And told he must not think!
’Cause if he tastes a tad too much,
He’ll go and join our foes,
He’ll realize the truth we hide:
The king has lost his clothes—
The laws were woven through our pride,
And they’re all just an act—
Once a soul has tasted Christ
He’ll never once look back.
