What we saw on a mountain drive,
A view that did amaze us,
The scientists might classify
As cirrus, stratus, nimbus.
Away beyond the cabins that
Sat lonely on the hills
Were clouds of such variety,
Their awesomeness brought chills.
There were so many kinds of shapes
Of different design,
That students of geometry
Would not dare to define.
Light fluffy villages of clouds
In white were pushed away--
Invasions, usurpations made
By soldier clouds of gray.
Chef Sun placed creamy frosting on
A rich vanilla cake,
Heaped high with many layers on
A gleaming china plate.
With bags of rain the burdened clouds
Were rolling, racing, gliding.
Suspended by their unseen threads,
They merged without colliding.
A blue sky battled constantly
For places to peek through.
Between the bearded faces,
He made a brave debut.
These scenes of beauty wowed us
And stirred imagination,
This sky show’s presentation by
The God of all creation.
