The empty screen mocks me. So white...so EMPTY! And I have NOTHING to write! Okay, think...must be able to create something. Something, anything to fill this emptiness.

Maybe if I change my background...got to love Microsoft '07! Hmmm, white to...oh, blue! There we go, a blue background with white text. Let's see if that helps me any.

Okay, think, think, think...and nothing!

It is still mocking me. I think more so now, than before. I might as well change it back to white.

ARGH!

Slams head on keyboard

Okay, back to square one. I need a story line. Yes, that's right; to write I need a story line. But until this, maybe if I just write words this silly white screen will stop mocking me.

Okay, here we go, just type.

Once upon a time, there was a little boy named...

What was the boy's name? Does it really matter? No, it doesn't. But then again, where does this story go? I need a hero! I need a plot!

I need...I need to make this screen stop mocking me! If it doesn't...I might just start looking like that one picture on Faithwriters board; the one that looks like a stickman that is about to lose its mind in a fit of insanity. Always made me laugh; until I finally understood why that poster uses it.

Okay, delete key, how I love thee, take away my blabbering typing. Help me to start fresh...ah, much better! A nice, white screen and back to a fresh start.

Focus, the white, empty screen is my friend, not my enemy. I still have a month left. I can still do this. One novel, in one month... sure; that can be easy! If only the screen would stop mocking me!

Exactly why I passed on Nano this year:) Cute. I hope the writer's block faded quickly. Happy NaNoing:)

LOL funny. But you're not selling NaNo for me ;-)

Really fun read (and I'm glad I dropped out).

I had to laugh at "slams head on keyboard" and the resulting typed "sentence." :) What fun!

I have no idea what NaNo whatever is...but I certainly have experienced what you have described all too well. Great work and lots of fun!
